Read through all the step-by-step instructions prior to using EXPERT®™ Clean & Bright Wood Cleaner.
MIXING: Always wear heavy-duty rubber gloves, NIOSH approved respirator and PPE when working with EXPERT Clean & Bright Wood Cleaner, or any other EXPERT Clean & Bright products.
Mix 4 oz to 8 oz of Wood Cleaner with each gallon of warm water and stir thoroughly until powder is mostly dissolved. Mix in a separate 5-gallon pail before transferring into a pump sprayer. This avoids clogging the sprayer. Use Cleaner solution within 6 hours of mixing. Wood Cleaner mixed solution is Yellow in color for ease of identification.
APPLICATION: Pre wet the surface with water before application. Apply EXPERT Clean & Bright Wood Cleaner solution with a sprayer, brush, or car wash brush, working on small areas (100-200 sq. ft.) at a time.
If applying cleaner on vertical surfaces using a sprayer, work on small areas at a time, starting at the bottom, and working your way up.
If needed, scrub thoroughly with a hard, short, bristled broom, or brush. Be sure to keep the area wet with additional solution or mist from a water hose and allow the wood cleaner to sit for approximately 5 to 20 minutes or until the desired result is achieved.
RINSE: Rinse thoroughly with water from a hose or pressure washer using lowest effective pressure, to clean without damaging the wood. For extreme build up of dirt, or organic growth use either a power washer, or a hard bristled brush. While using a power washer, use only the minimum effective amount of pressure to achieve the desired result. Particular care should be taken in order to not damage the wood, power wash using a pendulum motion the full length of each board. Do not start and stop as scarring or gouging of wood can occur.
NEUTRALIZE: After cleaning is complete, immediately neutralize and brighten the wood using EXPERT Clean & Bright Wood Brightener. Let EXPERT Wood Brightener sit for 5 to 15 minutes ensuring the entire surface has been properly neutralized and rinsed thoroughly. A color change will be evident when properly brightened, this will open wood grain and prevent poor stain penetration.
IMPORTANT: After Brightener is applied, rinse wood’s entire surface for 10 to 15 minutes, and rinse all nearby surfaces including siding, windows, and foliage.
Allow wood surfaces to dry 48 to 72 hours (or longer) before applying EXPERT Stain & Seal wood stains. Stains must be applied when wood is dried to 13% moisture content or less.
Clean-up: Clean tools and equipment immediately after each use with soap and water.
